BOSTON CONSULTING GROUP: WORKPLACE STRATEGY
Reimagining the future of the office and the workplace
This document is intended to provide a phased programming outline for the Pier 4 Boston Office of Boston Consulting Group located in Boston, Massachusetts. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the nature of the workplace and work has shifted beyond expectation as many have transitioned to working from home and are only now beginning to return on a cautious hybrid basis. With this transition, a shift has followed at all levels, whether it’s employee autonomy or cultural expectation. Our task is to look at the future of workplace in terms of health and wellbeing, especially with the behavioral and mental impacts of COVID-19 and the overall growing importance of safety. Additionally, a great importance is placed on what the future office looks like, as BCG must find a balance between creating a functional, appealing environment that fosters a sense of belonging and engagement, while considering cost, space, and culture.

prompt to develop a set of strategies for BCG’s Global Real Estate Workplace Strategy team that address two main challenges:
Health and Well-being: Health and well-being is not only a timely topic under the context of COVID-19, but also one that is increasingly important to the workforce. How can BCG incorporate elements of the workplace that help with physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being as well as new and emerging solutions and technologies to deliver this goal?
Future of office and workplace: The purpose of the office and employee expectations of the workplace is evolving in an increasingly hybrid world. What strategies and technologies can effectively support the creation of a sense of belonging and support high levels of engagement in the workplace, while taking into account the practicalities of cost, space, and culture?
